My Sears Electronic Table Saw with Harbor Freight mobile base
My Sears Electronic Table Saw with Harbor Freight mobile base

This is another project that got completed in a timely fashion thanks to social distancing. The Harbor Freight mobile base was purchased in Tallahassee Florida several years ago. Since the purchase two Harbor Freight stores have opened near me. The first store is in Thomasville and now there is one in Albany.

I bought the table saw used from a guy in Austin several years ago. I am just starting to use it regularly and I wanted to be able to move it around easily. The cheap casters that I installed on it when I purchased were caving in, so I needed to fix it quickly.

I used my floor jack to put the table saw on some saw horses to lift it off the garage floor so that I could slide the completed base under it. I had to read the instructions several times over the three days of construction to really figure out how to make sure that my measurements for the wood would work. I had to ream a few holes on the caster brackets to get them to fit, but it was an easy assembly once I figured out what was going on in the instructions.

I may upgrade the stand and replace the wooden components with steel tubing for a little more strength and stiffness.
